What's Myo?
Meo Myofunctional Therapy
You may be wondering, "What is myofunctional therapy?!" My job is to educate and guide clients to meet the four goals of myofunctional therapy. These goals are nasal breathing, proper mouth and tongue posture, and correcting the oral phase of swallow.
All of these functions have a direct effect on airway, health, and wellness. Meo Myo Therapy practices with a focus on the client as a whole and not just their myofunctional impairments. The ultimate goal is for you to use all your new skills automatically without even thinking about it.

The assigned exercises address the muscles from below the eyes to the shoulders, most involve the tongue. These exercises are non-invasive, interventional, and easy to do.

Therapy can begin after completing an online initial oral facial functional evaluation. Our therapy sessions are conducted in an video chat format typically every 1 - 2 weeks for 30 to 45 minutes. Length of therapy programs can range from a few sessions to a year for comprehensive therapy.
The length of your individualized therapy plan is determined by the number and severity of oral myofunctional disorders and your compliance with therapy. The average length is around six months if meeting regularly.

Myofunctional therapy is usually just a piece of your overall wellness puzzle. Your therapist will often collaborate with other healthcare providers as needed to address different parts of this puzzle. I hope this helps to explain what myofunctional therapy is and a little bit about how it works.
Schedule a complimentary phone consultation to answer your general questions, discuss your therapy goals, and determine if Meo Myo is the right fit for you.
If you prefer to get started right away, schedule an initial oral facial functional evaluation. All clients are required to complete an initial evaluation prior to beginning therapy.
